A recent ruling noted that doctors are responsible to chose between alternative treatment plans if the different method of treatment available for treating a disease. As we know for any trauma leading to fracture a doctor can treat it as a case of closed fracture simple plaster or internal fixation, so in the case of trauma injuries, whether plasters are required or screws/nails, it is the doctors choice. The National Commission quickly dismissed a medical negligence case where a patient alleged negligence in fixing a fracture by nails/screws, stating it was not required.
