Cardiovascular (CV) and kidney disease have Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) as a major risk factor. There are several CV safety concerns associated with some glucose-lowering agents. In this regard, the following article summarizes the use of linagliptin in the management of diabetic patients at risk of major CV and renal events.
