The COVID-19 pandemic has largely affected elderly people and patients with comorbidities like hypertension, diabetes, kidney diseases, etc. Patients who require dialysis as maintenance therapies are more prone to transmission due to compromised immunity, overexposure to the hospital environment, and opportunistic infections. The Ministry of health and family welfare (MoHFW) has released guidelines for treating dialysis patients infected with COVID-19 . The document informs on procedures to be followed by patients as well as hospital staff during various dialysis procedures .
