Health is not mainly an issue of doctors, social services or hospitals, it is an issue of social justice. Modern medicine has made progress, became complex and treatment more costly but benefits not yet penetrated to social periphery. The goal of medicine not to merely treat the diseases but prevention of diseases, promotion of health and quality of life which is an essential component of socio-economic development. India is benefited of huge contribution (GDP) from an unorganized sector (2/3) i.e. workers.

NSSO reported (1999-2000) 370 million workers constituted 97% from unorganized sector. Poor living conditions of basic amenities and inaccessible/nonavailable health services have the propensity to diseases which affect production in GDP which is a loss to country's economy.
