Synopsis Phacoemulsification is a common treatment procedure for cataract caused by uveitis. Complications such as iris atrophy, posterior synechiae, and pupillary membrane are common in cataracts caused due to uveitis. These complications result in poor postoperative visual acuity and inflammation of the anterior chamber. Therefore, there is an unmet need for an effective procedure for reducing the postoperative inflammatory responses in patients undergoing phacoemulsification.
