Tuberculosis (TB) and diabetes mellitus (DM) are the leading health concerns. The WHO has reported that approximately 10% of TB cases worldwide are associated with DM. In a recent study, it was revealed that DM increases TB severity, and may lead to an increased risk of delayed sputum growth, treatment failure and relapses after TB treatment. However, this article reflects increased risk of atypical radiological presentation and unsuccessful treatment outcomes of TB in DM patients.
