keloid is an abnormal healing response to injury and its excessive deposition of collagen and glycoprotein in dermis. its differ from hypertrophic scar, by it did not follow the margin of wounds and continues to grow,in hypertrophic it remains with margin of wound and usually growth subside within 1year. keloid 15 times more common in pigmented population,more in 20 to 30 years age group and commonly seen on back,shoulders chest and ear lobules.growth may follow sometime start with very small injury like ear piercing,burn or small scar and keloid sometime run in families. managements includes many possible things.....
