While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that "legal arrangements" will be made to make prescription of generic medicines compulsory, MCI has come out with a notification highlighting that strict disciplinary action shall fall upon those Doctors who do not write Generic Medicines in bold legible letters on their prescription and in the process violate the concerned clauses of the IMC Act.
