Dental injuries are very common during childhood and nearly one-half of the children sustain some or the other type of dental injury. Most of these injuries are treatable and preventable. However, the injuries resulting in the loss of permanent teeth may have long-standing cosmetic, functional, and psychosocial effects. Dental injuries need prompt treatment. This article focuses on the overview of dental injuries in children.
