Synopsis Clinical evidence has provided contradictory results for the use of a cervical pessary in singleton pregnancies in women with a short cervix. The present study aims to compare the effectiveness of a cervical pessary and vaginal progesterone to prevent spontaneous preterm births in pregnant women with cervical lengths of 25 mm or less as measured by transvaginal ultrasonography.
