Highlights Pseudarthrosis leads to a revision of surgery; therefore, one of the important goals of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) surgery is to obtain complete arthrodesis. This study aimed to assess the effect of retropharyngeal steroids on arthrodesis and reoperation rates after ACDF surgery. The radiographic fusion rate was significantly lower in the group that received local steroids than the control group.
