Highlights Lichen planus cutaneous lesions are diagnosed in around 1% of dermatological cases; about two-thirds of patients acquire oral lichen planus (OLP). There is no definite treatment for OLP. Photodynamic therapy can be a promising treatment option for treating OLP cases where oral corticosteroids are not effective. This Journal Watch summarizes the outcomes of the study entitled, โ€œ Comparison of Clinical Efficiency of Photodynamic Therapy and Topical Corticosteroid in Treatment of Oral Lichen Planus,โ€ published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine 2021.
