Highlights The study was conducted among the susceptible age group of children, i.e., 6–35 months. The rate of recurrence of otitis media in tympanostomy-tube placement was clinically lesser. Tympanostomy-tube placement showed relatively lesser otitis-related symptoms. Medical management had lesser otorrhea occurrence. No statistical difference in the efficacy of the two groups for the treatment of recurrent otitis media.
