The health services at a Delhi hospital were severely affected because of resident doctor’s strike. Over 200 surgeries were postponed and patients who came to the OPD had to go back. The patients are furious as they were not being attended by the doctors. The patients already admitted were told to get discharged or wait till the strike ends. This doctors strike is against the assault on two colleagues by a patient’s attendants who sustained serious injuries.
The Resident doctors’ associations at the hospital said the strike would continue if their demands are not considered. The health minister has assured about increasing the security personnel, but no timelines are yet given.
