Amoebiasis is known to us from ancient time, a protozoal disease caused Entamoeba Histolytica affecting around 10% of world population, only 10% are symptomatic, out of these symptomatic patients 3 to 10% are going to develop amoebic liver abscess. Amoebic liver abscess has high incidence in tropical and subtropical areas and more in areas with poor sanitation, immunocompromised patients and diabetics. Amoebic liver abscess is usually solitary and more in young age group than pyogenic liver abscess.
