He also presented with fatigue, weight loss, non-productive cough, constipation, and a fever of 102.5 F. His heart rate was 135, and his respiratory rate was 20. Physical examination revealed: Dry mucous membranes Posterior pharynx erythema without any tonsillar exudates Mild abdominal distention without any significant tenderness Delayed capillary refill of 4 seconds His blood culture tested positive for Enterococcus faecalis.
