A 62-year-old woman presented with a painless growth for the last eight months on the left lingual side of gingiva. The growth, which had started as a small, slow-growing mass, attained its present size of 0.6 × 0.4 cm in 8 months. She had quit chewing paan (betel leaf with other ingredients) a year ago and had no significant medical history or similar lesions in any other part of her body. Upon clinical examination, it was noticed that there was a mild attachment loss at 2-3 mm.

Radiological examination showed that there had been some horizontal bone loss while Intraoral periapical revealed no hard tissue changes at 36–37 regions. The white pinkish growth was soft with finger-like projections on the surface (Image A). The growth was observed to extend into the attached and alveolar gingiva on the lingual side of 36 and 37. HIV tests were negative, and blood tests were normal.…
