Upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), especially sinusitis, is common in children. A prospective, multicenter, parallel-group, open, and randomized clinical study evaluated the effect of nasal isotonic saline in preventing the recurrent episodes of cold and flu in children during the winter. 1 In a study by Slapak I, et al. , a total of 401 children aged 6-10 years with uncomplicated cold or flu were randomly assigned to two treatment groups: one group received standard medication, the other received nasal wash with a modified seawater solution plus standard medication.
