In India, online sale of medicines is rampant. In the year of its launch, they have sold about 1700 crores of medicines and they give much benefit to buyers by giving a rebate of 10-50%. So, these are getting popular but affecting the sale of traditional medicine sellers by obtaining license and shop. The fight between traditional drug sellers and online e-pharmacies took a new turn as the Madras High Court has granted an interim injunction restraining the online sale of medicines till further orders, based on a plea from the Chennai-based Tamil Nadu Chemists & Druggists Association.
