A male patient aged about 70 years, presented with complaints of shivering. On examination, the vitals were within normal limits. No fever and sugar levels were normal. However, he is a diabetic and sugars are within normal limits. On repeated questioning, the relatives gave a history of consumption of 15 tablets of Telmisartan 40 mg. The patient was conscious and moderately overweight. Relatives said that he was depressed as his sons deserted him and his wife.

So he had consumed the tablets. I assured them that it's better to get admitted as he has to be under observation as he would develop hypotension gradually. Some might not so. Immediate side effect usually is diarrhoea, abdominal pain which was both absent. How do we deal this case? Some people do develop fluid loss due to heavy sweating. Should we just advise or wait and watch or better to get him admitted under surveillance?
