Silicone injections have become very common these days for the augmentation of soft tissues. However, the use of Silicone injections for esthetic purposes is not free of complications. The following case report discusses the management of a 31-year-old woman who presented with refractory left lateral hip pain following silicone injections. Case Presentation A 31-year-old woman had been suffering from lateral hip pain for the last five years. She had initially been diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis for which she received a non-X-ray-guided steroid injection in her trochanteric bursa.

This, however, led to further worsening of pain. The patient rated the pain as 4 out of 10 and described it as dull. The pain was aggravated by movement and alleviated by rest. No erythema or joint swelling was associated with the pain. Physical examination Normal gait and station The left hip had…
